Build your own avatar
Design a presenter of your own with the avatar builder or a description in any language, or use your own photo with your consent, then reuse it in every video.
Updated October 17, 2026
Besides the Craftkite library, you can make presenters of your own: a fictional person built from a few choices or a description, or yourself from a photo. Your avatars are saved and can present any of your videos (see Talking avatars and presenters).

Build an avatar
- In the AI video flow, open Presenters and choose New avatar.
- Make your choices: gender, age, skin tone, hair and hair colour, outfit (for example casual, business, doctor, chef or teacher), setting (studio, office, kitchen, café, classroom and more) and energy (calm, friendly, energetic or serious).
- Or simply describe the person in any language, for example “a friendly grandma in her kitchen”. Craftkite turns the description into the same choices, so the voice matches too.
- Give the avatar a name and choose Create. The price is shown on the button. The avatar is ready in a minute or two; until then it is marked Making.
Save and reuse
- Your avatars are saved to your account, or to the workspace on a team, and can present any video.
- Rename an avatar, choose its voice for each language, or delete it. Videos already made keep it.
- There is a limit on how many avatars an account can keep; delete one you no longer use to make room.
Use your own photo
- Choose Upload a photo and pick a clear, front-facing photo with one face, up to 8 MB.
- Tick the likeness consent: you confirm that the photo shows you, or a person who has agreed to be your presenter, and that Craftkite may make a talking avatar from it.
- Craftkite checks the photo before the avatar is made.
Photos of real children and photos of public figures are refused, as are photos without a clearly visible face. A description that names a real, well-known person is refused too.
Child characters
AI-generated child and teen characters, from the library or the builder, are allowed for children’s education and family content, with extra care:
- Their scripts get a stricter automatic review. Anything unsuitable for children, or pressure to buy, is refused.
- A video with a child character must not collect children’s data: no sign-ups, contact details or photos asked from children.
- Advertising with a child character shows an ad label on the video.
Privacy
Your photo and your avatar’s portrait are stored with your account, in your data region. They are deleted when you delete the avatar or your account, and they are part of your data export (see Privacy and your data).
